‘Castle Rock’ Trailer Ties Together the Stephen King Universe (VIDEO)

The new teaser trailer for ‘Castle Rock’ debuted as Stephen King’s entire universe comes to life…

Anyone who has ever read a Stephen King novel or watched a movie or TV series based on a Stephen King story knows that the author bases most of his work around his home state of Maine but specifically a town called Castle Rock.

That will serve as the focus for a new Hulu series starring Andre Holland (‘American Horror Story: Roanoke), who is an attorney sent to work on a very unusual death row case with the inmate housed at Shawshank State Penitentiary.

Of course, that’s also the setting of ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ — the critically acclaimed film based on a story by King that starred Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. Now of course there’s no telling if any of the characters from ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ will pop up in ‘Castle Rock’ but it’s interesting to see the crossover element that exists already in the featured plot for the show.

In the new trailer that debuted at New York Comic Con on Sunday, Holland’s character is seen as well as flashes that connect several other pieces of the Stephen King universe including a brief glimpse at Bill Skarsgard, who you may know best as Pennywise the Clown from the recent adaptation of ‘It’ also from Stephen King.

Take a look at the new trailer ahead of ‘Castle Rock’ landing on Hulu in 2018.
