It’s about time lovable Nathan Fillion made his Marvel debut as the veteran actor will make a guest appearance in the upcoming film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’….
You’d think Joss Whedon would have thought of this already!
But thankfully director James Gunn was able to pull in a favor from his good buddy Nathan Fillion, who will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Marvel film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ set for release on August 1.
While rumors had Fillion playing the role of Nova — an intergalactic super soldier — that part is not true according to Gunn, who responded to the news via Twitter.
The rumors of my pal @NathanFillion playing Nova in #guardiansofthegalaxy have been greatly (and entirely) exaggerated. Sorry, humans.

The good news is Fillion’s part in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ did actually exist, the rumors just got the part he was playing wrong — at least for now. Gunn did confirm Fillion’s appearance in the movie, but only went onto say he filmed a small part for the upcoming film.
Whether that leaves the window open for Fillion to play a bigger part in a future Marvel movie or if this really is just a brief one off cameo remains unknown at this time.
“@STARS_TyranT: Are the rumours true that he has some part in the film?” @nathanfillion has a very small fun cameo he did as a favor to me.

Fillion and Gunn have worked together in the past with the 2006 horror comedy ‘Slither’. Now they are teaming back up for at least a small part in the upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film from Marvel
