‘New Girl’ Star Hannah Simone Books Lead Role in ‘Greatest American Hero’ Reboot

The upcoming ‘Greatest American Hero’ reboot at ABC has found a star in Hannah Simone…

Look at what’s happened to Hannah Simone — she can’t believe it herself.

Simone — best known for her role on the FOX comedy ‘New Girl’ — has been cast in the lead role of the upcoming ABC reboot of ‘The Greatest American Hero’, which was originally a 1980’s comedy/action series starring William Katt.

The original story focused on a school teacher who fumbles his way into an alien super suit that gives him all sorts of powers but there’s only one problem — he has no idea what he’s doing.

The reboot will focus on Simone’s character Meera, who is a 30 something woman trying to find a meaning to life which doesn’t sit well with her Indian-American family, when she is given a super suit and tasked with protecting the planet.

‘The Greatest American Hero’ reboot is being executive produced by Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off the Boat) with Rachna Fruchbom (also from Fresh Off the Boat) writing the pilot script for ABC.

If nothing else, here’s hoping the rebooted series gives us an incredible cover version of the original theme song — and if they don’t use this then the show should be cancelled immediately.
